The Intrust Super Shute Shield further builds strength with Emerald Group Investments signing as 2015 final series naming rights sponsor ahead of this weekend's double-header on Saturday and Sunday LIVE on 7TWO.
Emerald Group Investments was founded in 2013 as part of the generational transition of the Kennedy Family business LK Jewellery, now LK Boutique, following the passing of the co-founder and business namesake Louis Kennedy in 2008.
James Kennedy, MD & CEO of Emerald Group Investments, and eldest son of Louis & Martha Kennedy founded Emerald Group Investments, as the key investment vehicle to take the family business to the next level.
Taking over in 2009, James successfully steered the LK Boutique business through four years of consolidation, re-developing its retail network to now include Australia’s premier Rolex Boutique in Sydney’s Martin Place.
In 2015 Emerald Group Investments expanded the company portfolio, acquiring the global Luxury Audio Visual Retailer, Bang & Olufsen’s Australian and New Zealand retail operations.
In conjunction with the LK Boutique business, Emerald Group Investments now owns and manages 13 retail stores and employs over 70 staff in both Australia and New Zealand, with further expansion plans scheduled for the second half of 2015.
James Kennedy said, “Across each of our businesses, we place a large focus on supporting the wider community, and partnering with club rugby at the grass roots level is no exception. We are delighted to sponsor the Intrust Super Shute Shield Finals Series, and help to support the growth and success of the series into the future.”
Manly v Randwick Minor premiers Manly will host sixth placed Randwick in the opening match of the Intrust Shute Shield finals series, live on 7TWO from 3pm this Saturday. Manly have been the team to beat for the majority of 2015, dropping just two matches so far this season and head into Saturday's quarter final full of confidence, after beating the Galloping Greens 36-17 last week.
Despite that, it's difficult to rule out a Randwick side led by Waratahs veteran Steve Hoiles and try-scoring phenomenon Andrew Kellaway. Catch all the action live and free on 7TWO from 3pm this Saturday 1 August 2015. Southern Districts v Sydney University Southern Districts ended Sydney Uni's 2014 season with a penalty goal after the siren in the last year's preliminary final, with the Students desperate to claim revenge when the two meet live on 7TWO from 2:30pm this Sunday. After winning three straight matches, Southern Districts were disappointing in a 17-16 loss to West Harbour last weekend and will be without centre Apo Latunipalu and flanker Marcus Carbone for Sunday's clash. In stark contrast, Sydney Uni were brilliant in a 40 point victory over Northern Suburbs last weekend and will take more than 300 Super Rugby caps.
